orphan- if you haven't seen it...

see it!

"V" cant wait!

Today, the world woke up to find spaceships over every major city. The Visitors claim to have come in peace, bringing gifts of medical miracles and technological breakthroughs. They promise to do no harm. They're lying.

Most people believe the aliens have arrived just when we needed them most. We're eager to embrace their generous offers of help, but while tracking a terrorist cell, Homeland Security agent Erica Evans stumbles upon something far more sinister. Erica discovers that the aliens have plans to infiltrate our governments and businesses, planting seeds for their plot to control mankind. Convincing anyone of the truth will be impossible because the Visitors have two powerful weapons. First, they've given the people faith with their reassuring presence and gifts. Second, they've rallied our youth. Thousands of teens, including Erica's son, have been recruited as 'Peace Ambassadors' but they're actually serving as unwitting spies. When Erica gets thrust into the resistance movement, she'll have to balance her covert activities with her job and her role as a mother, fighting to protect her son Tyler - even as he joins forces with the enemy.

From executive producer Scott Peters, Emmy-nominated creator of The 4400, comes a bold re-imagining of the sci-fi classic. Let the invasion begin.

please oh pretty please

dont know if this is old news but i just read this.

But now word comes out of Italy that the two-stroke streetbike might be experiencing its own resurrection, as these concept sketches of a Yamaha RD350 illustrate. As before, the challenge is to create a two-cycle engine that is able to pass emissions regulations, but perhaps the recent innovations in two-stroke outboard boat motor technology can be somehow adapted to a street-legal motorcycle engine. The challenge Bimota and others faced in this regard has been getting the air/fuel mixture in and out efficiently at the higher revs required of a bike engine. It’s possible that new fuel-injection technology and effective catalyzers might be able to solve this longstanding conundrum.

CALIFORNIA day 5

Erika's friend came over from Texas to check things out here in califas.
so as the tour guide; you cant visit la without going to Hollywood.
right off the bat there was a 30 minute traffic snarl for 1 mile.

first stop, my favorite place in the city. the Griffith observatory.

http://www.griffithobs.org

ive been going there for a long time. one of my best memories was when I was about 10. my grandfather took my brother and I to a "Doors" laser light show. it was about 5 minutes into the show and some dude next to us just sparks up a joint and goes at it.
it has the best view of the city in my opinion. here is kind of a panoramic view from the back section. when there is no smog and a clear day you can see the water on the right.

Erika and her friend kameron taking advantage of a photo op.

im not going to lie. I have no idea what’s going on here

after that went to get some lunch down on Sunset. we had to hit up the California icon.... in and out burger. I always get the same thing. number 2 animal style.

driving around the city is entertaining in its self. it never gets old for me. I love the capitol building

while on Melrose caught these shots of "tastes like gold"

http://twitter.com/tasteslikegold

and an old bansky

http://www.banksy.co.uk

next headed down to "the fast life"

http://thefastlife.com/blog

they just had a huge event down there a week or so ago; so I hade to get some stuff from the show. (pic of the store front is not by me) Swooped up a hat from the event and some stickers and wild ones shirt. then my wife bought me the print from the show; only 88 made. sweeeet

as you know Michael Jackson died and his star on Hollywood blvd was a mob scene..

you cant have Hollywood with out scientology

http://www.scientology.org

also caught some "space invader" sightings on Hollywood...

http://www.space-invaders.com

after an all day long gallivanting of Hollywood area we headed back. I dropped off the wife and headed out to the SGV to see an old friend that I used to work with. Mr. BTX of ruckus fame. one cool dude

hung out at his shop till about 12am then head home. a full day for me.

CALIFORNIA day 4

today's plan hit up the beach. i love going to Zuma. its been the place Ive gone to since i was a little kid. big waves but cold as hell.
first stop, pick up my wife's friend at LAX. i think the only time you will see the 405 clear...

you always have to bury somebody in the sand.

one of the things i always admire about CA is they always have the coolest advertising. weather is street/gorilla campaigns, publicity stunts or what not. while at the beach they kept flying a helicopter over the beach with a guy hanging off it. it was a black copter with a big GI JOE logo on the side.

unlike Disneyland for a holiday weekend the beach was slammed.

tomorrow I'm going downtown and Hollywood. this time i will have better thing to get pictures of. all my favorite spots and random goodness.

CALIFORNIA day 3

4th of July!
not much going on here but heres what came out. spend most of the day by the pool. all the family was over at my fathers place. food beer and a pool, what else do you need.

but i did start the day off with another California food favorite... Del Taco!

dad looking after the grill

and the boy play with the fireworks. once again a pretty good display put on at the house and no cops to be found.

CALIFORNIA day 2

Headed off to Disneyland around 12pm along the way flicked some pics of the local graf. not a good showing but compared to the Austin TX scene.... should have some good pics later on in the trip.

some of the fam heading into the park. for it being a holiday weekend it was not that crowded.

one of my favorite rides was space mountain.

yup that's me in the back.

my wife's going to kill me for posting this pic while on "its a small world" my outer moron in full effect.

my great view of the "night-tastic" show. from what i heard its was awesome

and of course some bitchin fireworks

was enjoying the day a little to much to take alot of pictures.

CALIFORNIA day1

started my vacation by getting up at 5:30am to catch a plane. the airport here in Austin was pretty slammed for being that early on a Thursday morning. then again its close to a holiday weekend.

here we are getting into la. man i love the smog. plus just the sight of the city is awesome. it goes on and on. back in Austin it seems like the city is only 20 miles long.

Parker's 5 years old and ready for anything. always stoked to get back to California

man i miss the city. traffic is awesome. sucks for them be we have smooth sailing heading into the SFV

first stop was food. all we ever talk about when we plan vacations back to CA is the FOOD.
for Erika its in and out. for me its the mexican. for some reason it always tastes better here. my favorite joint is Campos in simi valley. their chips and salsa is so good. i go there just to eat that, but i also buy a bean and cheese burrito so i don't look like a weirdo just buying the salsa.

as with most vacations, rest and relaxation is always on the top of the list. sat back at my fathers house and just chilled with the help of my new toy. electronic cigarettes. i have not smoked an "analog" cig in a week. these just have liquid nicotine and you vaporize it. it produces smoke but your not burning anything. its more like water vapor. no harsh chemicals, or even tobacco.

with the resting out of the way, the alcohol came out. here's the wife breaking out here OJ rum concoction.

and my sister joining in the fun with my dad.

dad was cooking the tri-tip for dinner

lady's man

good start to a week long vacation.
tomorrows mission..... Disneyland.
